Velohawk.

Brief.

Velohawk are a New Zealand based start-up. Producing their self-named product - the Velohawk is the only premium bike storage system, soon to be released onto the market. It is a fully customisable, with changeable carbon fibre panelling; a in-built battery within the base, and touch card access to open the high-end hydraulic hatch.

Launching in October with multiple features across digital and press - including a full page ad in major cycling publication, Rouleur; we were briefed to shoot still life product photos of the Velohawk in a blacked out studio environment.

Solution.

Teaming up with the team at Velohawk, we developed their concept with them before producing a call sheet that covered all of the shots for the half day product shoot.

With the product not yet released, we contacted their manufacturing partner, Penso to organise a shoot space within their engineering facility, as well as putting together a spec for a non-intrusive, on-site mobile studio.

On shoot day, Hikaru worked with photography assistant, Harvey to clear and black-out the space, before capturing hero and detail shots of the Velohawk, with the addition of the new Bradley Wiggens bike featured in the shots.
