Project: Made by Hand.
Having been in London for three years, and living in my favourite area of North London, Stoke Newington - I’m always amazed by the amount of talented creatives, artisans and makers (amongst other people/places) that I’m surrounded by. It’s this environment and the first 18 months of working as a commercial photographer that has inspired me to reach back out to the community of creatives that fascinate me.
Introducing my personal project, Made by Hand.
‘MBH’ is a collection of portraits and storytelling photos that capture the essence of London creatives in and around their workspace. Teaming up with them, it’s all about being naturally posed, working candidly and gaining insight into them and craft; with a big focus showing off the vast range of artisans and the ever growing popularity of handmade objects.
To bolster this, I’m shooting all essays with natural and available light - in addition to having a short piece of descriptive text to support the photos on both digital and print mediums (to be organised). All of the content has been shared with the creatives for them to use however they wish.
Having already teamed up with a potter, neon artist, screen printer, and food producer; the first of my Made by Hand collaborations are now live on the website, with a few more already in the pipeline over the next few months.
If you’re a creative and would like to team up so that I can capture you doing your thing, drop me a line!
