Case Study: Jeru Mayfair

Brief.

Located in the exclusive Berkeley Street in Mayfair, London - Jeru has recently opened its doors to welcome the city’s lovers of high concept dining.

Led by Chef Roy Ner, an award-winning Australian celebrity chef - he brings his Cordon Bleu background and wealth of experience to the restaurant to create something unique and fresh to Mayfair.

Jeru was created by Ner to celebrate his love for Middle Eastern cuisine, through his growing base of developed traditional, and regional dishes.

The space is split between the Bakery, restaurant, and Layla Bar over two floors; each with a harmonious theme, with lots of interesting nooks and a long pass-side dining experience.

Wanting to showcase this experience, I was approached by the Syndey-based parent business, Seagrass BHG to capture restaurant photography - with a potential for a rolling retainer with the group.

Approach.

We kicked off the project having a discovery call with the UK and Sydney team - looking at what works within their group, and the types of aspirational food content we all liked and wanted to create.

We refined the restaurant photography brief to focus our time on shooting the core heroes of the food & drinks menus - being mindful to express the core USPS and aesthetic dining experience of the restaurant.

Captured on-location, I advised the clients on a prop house and a selection of lifestyle studio backgrounds to work with on the day; shooting food & drink content of their menus - with a balance of ambient and studio lighting within the spaces.

Already in use on their website, across social and for press - the client loved the final edited content and provided me with a lovely testimonial.

Since our principal shoot, it’s been great to return to the restaurant for a series of follow-up restaurant photography shoots - to build on this foundation together.
