Case Study: Medeau

Brief.

Based within a village in the Surrey Hills National Park, London - Medeau are a perfume brand.

Inspired by the freshness of English flowers, French luxury brands, and backed by science - they have produced four core perfumes. The fragrances are produced in the UK and are 100% vegan with no toxic ingredients, dyes or endocrine disruptors.

In the process of rebranding and wanting to refresh their photographic identity with a collection of product photography - Alli the founder reached out to me to develop, produce and capture their brief.

Approach.

We kicked off with a discovery session to run through the aspirations of the brand - learning about the core USPs and used those to guide our creative decision-making for their product photography brief.

The signed-off brief was to produce aspirational commercial photography of the products - using a couple of core ingredients and textures to convey the feeling of the products. The second portion of the session was to continue our theme on feeling and produce social first imagery.

This was pulled together with a collection of bespoke backgrounds that used handmade limewash with rare pigments to produce layered and textured scenes. Combined with directional dappled light and core ingredients to visualise the provenance of each perfume and the feeling that they each give to the wearer.
